What does ESS mean?

ESS is a special solar power system with energy storage that is integrated to the power grid with Voltacon hybrid inverters and lithium batteries. Energy is stored in batteries during the day (or at night with economy rate) for use later when the sun is not available. 

It also allows for programming and prioritizing the power source (grid, solar, battery) , charging from solar, and feeding back to the grid. The latter function is adjustable, if there is no need to export energy the users will set the export value to 0Watt.

The ESS 5.5kW will automatically export surplus energy (or it will stop production if there is no energy demand and the batteries are fully charged). When the energy from the batteries and solar in insufficient, it will automatically buy power from the grid. 

Operating modes

  1. Off-grid but with the grid as a back 
  2. Hybrid mode works with the grid in parallel, the inverter and grid will feed the AC loads.
  3. It exports energy back to the grid but this is adjustable from 0Watt to 5500Watt
  4. It can supply the AC loads connected to the grid and critical loads off-grid, combined capacity 5.5kW
  5. Timer Chargers. The ac charger is available for charging from the utility on demand when the tariff is cheaper
