Half-cell panels are modules that have halved solar cells, a design that improves performance and durability. This means 60 and 72-cell panels will now have 120 and 144 half-cut cells. These cells are able to produce more power, as their current is also halved, and therefore losses incurred in resistance are reduced.
Smaller cells experience reduced mechanical stresses, so they have a decreased opportunity for cracking. Half-cell modules have higher output ratings and are more reliable than traditional panels.
