The safety is paramount in solar photovoltaic systems. We have meticulously selected reliable devices that will protect yourself, your solar inverter and all the peripheral equipment (batteries and solar panels).
PV Combiner Boxes
These boxes are loaded with DC fuses, DC isolators and cable glands. They are used to protect multiple parallel string in solar arrays. There are standard DIN rails for mounting fuseholders or terminals.
PV String fuses and holders
GAVE Electro DIN rail mounting fuse holders are made for Photovoltaic & DC applications. They rated at 1000V and come in 12A, 15A and 20A. Terminals accept up to 10mm2 flexible cable, or 16mm2 solid wire.
These fuses are specifically designed to protect solar panels from reverse currents. The fuses will safely interrupt the circuit under typical low fault conditions produced by PV arrays.
DC Isolators. Kraus & Naimer
The DC isolator is the safest mean of manual isolaton between PV arranys and inverters. It is suitable for all grid-tied and off-grid installations. The DC switch is installed close to the inverter. As rule of thumb, the switch voltage rating is calcuated if you multiply 1.15 x Voc open circuit voltage of the string. The current rating is: 1.25 x Isc the string Isc short circuit.
AC Isolator. Kraus & Naimer
All solar installation must have one of these switches. The provide the perfect mean of manually isolating the solar inverter from the AC supply (Grid Voltage) or your AC loads, if we are referring to an off-grid system. The right position for the AC isolator is next to the consumer unit.
