Description
x800W Plug-In Solar Kit with Hoymiles HF-800-WB Microinverter and 2x JA Solar 465W Full Black Panels
A matched, ready to install solar kit for homes that want to cut daytime electricity bills without a full rooftop system. Two JA Solar 465W N-type full black panels give you 930W of PV capacity, and the Hoymiles HF-800-WB microinverter converts it into up to 800VA of clean 230V power for your household circuit. With built-in Wi-Fi monitoring, IP67 weather protection and a 5m AC cable with UK plug, it is a compact, maintenance-free way to start generating your own electricity from a garden, patio, flat roof or outbuilding.

Product Overview
Why 930W of Panels on an 800W Inverter?
Panel ratings are measured under Standard Test Conditions in a laboratory. On a real UK roof or garden, cloud, temperature, angle and time of day mean a panel spends most of its life producing well below its label rating. Pairing 930W of panels with an 800VA inverter lets the system reach its full output for longer periods and produce more energy through mornings, evenings and overcast days. On the few peak hours when the panels could exceed 800VA, the inverter simply caps the output safely.
JA Solar N-Type Full Black Panels
JA Solar is one of the largest solar module manufacturers in the world. These 465W JAM54D41 panels use 108 half cut N-type monocrystalline cells with a low temperature coefficient of minus 0.29% per °C, so they hold their output better on warm days. Tempered glass on both the front and rear gives excellent resistance to moisture and micro cracking, while the all black finish looks neat on a garden frame, garage roof or outbuilding.
Hoymiles HF-800-WB Microinverter
The HiFlow HF-800-WB accepts up to 16A input current, which suits modern high output panels. Its single MPPT tracks the panels continuously for maximum harvest, and grid monitoring with anti-islanding protection shuts the inverter down automatically if the mains supply fails. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are built in, so you can check generation from your phone from day one.
How the Kit Is Wired
The two panels are connected in series to the single DC input on the microinverter. In this configuration the combined open circuit voltage is around 81V at standard conditions, comfortably inside the inverter's 100V maximum, including in cold weather. The inverter then connects to your household supply through the 5m AC cable.
What Can You Expect to Generate?
As an estimate, a south facing, unshaded 930W system in the UK could produce roughly 650 to 800kWh per year. East or west facing installations, steep or shallow angles and any shading will reduce this. Energy used in your home while the sun is shining gives the best return, typically powering fridges, freezers, routers, standby loads and daytime appliances. The estimated savings for the year will be approximately £230.
Applications
- Garden, patio and ground mounted solar for homes
- Garage, shed, carport and outbuilding roofs
