Description
xSolis S6-EH1P10K-L-PLUS 10kW Single Phase Low Voltage Hybrid Inverter for 48V Batteries
The Solis S6-EH1P10K-L-PLUS is a 10kW single phase hybrid energy storage inverter from the Solis Solarator series. It works with low voltage (40 to 60V) lithium-ion or lead-acid batteries. It suits larger homes and small businesses that want solar self-consumption, battery storage and 10kW of backup power from one wall-mounted unit.
Key Features
- 10kW rated output and 10kVA maximum apparent power, single phase 220V / 230V.
- 2 MPPTs with 4 string inputs, up to 21A per string, 16kW usable PV input and a 20kW recommended array.
- 48V low voltage battery input (40 to 60V) for lithium-ion or lead-acid, with up to 210A and 10kW charge and discharge.
- 10kW backup output with 2 times rated power for 10 seconds and switchover in under 10ms.
- Generator input rated at 10kW, with a voltage-free start and stop signal for automatic generator control.
- Up to 6 units in parallel to expand system capacity.
- IP66 enclosure with an operating range of -25 to +60°C.
- 7-inch LCD screen, built-in Bluetooth and WiFi, LAN and Bluetooth communication as standard, with 96.2% maximum efficiency.
Product Overview
The S6-EH1P10K-L-PLUS combines a solar charge controller, a battery inverter and a grid-tie inverter in one unit. Its two MPPT trackers each take up to 42A across two strings, with 21A per string. This suits modern high-current solar modules and roofs with more than one orientation. The inverter accepts up to 160% of its rated power as PV input, so up to 16kW of the recommended 20kW array can be used.
Solar power goes to the loads first. You then choose between Self-use, Selling first and Off grid storage modes. Timed charge and discharge periods let you charge the battery on low-rate tariff windows. A settable battery reserve keeps charge back for power cuts, and grid peak shaving limits how much power is drawn from the grid. When the grid fails, the backup port takes over in under 10ms. It can deliver twice its rated power for 10 seconds, which helps start motors, pumps and air conditioners.
A multi-function port on the inverter can be set as a generator input, a smart load output or an AC-coupled input for an existing grid-tie PV inverter. Further terminals provide CAN-BMS, RS485 meter, Modbus RS485, DRM, a heat pump control signal and two parallel communication ports. Monitoring is through SolisCloud by WiFi, LAN or optional 4G, and the system can also be set up on site with the SolisCloud app over Bluetooth.

Installation and Safety Notes
This inverter must be installed by a qualified electrician or MCS certified installer in line with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations). In the UK, the DNO must be notified under G98 or G99 before the system is connected to the grid. A 10kW inverter will normally need a G99 application. The manual recommends an 80A AC breaker, and a Type A RCD of at least 100mA where local regulations require an RCD. It also recommends a 300A DC breaker with 1/0AWG cable on the battery side, 4 to 6mm² PV cable and an earth conductor of 16mm² or larger. The supplied CT must be fitted at the grid connection point with its arrow pointing towards the grid. The backup port must never be connected to the grid.
The enclosure is rated IP66, so it can be installed indoors or outdoors. Fit it out of direct sunlight and rain, ideally on a north-facing wall under an eave. Mount it vertically on a non-flammable wall with at least 300mm clear above, 150mm at each side and 800mm below where a battery cabinet sits underneath. Do not fit it in living areas, as fan noise can be noticeable. Two people are needed to lift the inverter. Only 40 to 60V batteries can be used; the inverter is not designed for high voltage batteries. Check that your battery is on the Solis battery compatibility list before installation.
