Description
xVestel AC Quatro 7.4kW Home EV Charger with 5m Type 2 Tethered Cable, Wi-Fi and RFID
The Vestel AC Quatro 7.4kW is a compact single phase smart EV charger for home driveways and garages. It delivers up to 7.4kW (32A) through a 5 metre tethered Type 2 cable, so it charges virtually every modern electric and plug-in hybrid car without a separate lead.
Built-in Wi-Fi, RFID access control and the Drive Green Next app let you schedule charging, manage power and keep the charger secure, while the IP54 and IK10 rated enclosure is designed for wall or pole mounting indoors or outside.
Key Features
- Up to 7.4kW single phase AC charging, adjustable from 10A to 32A to suit your supply.
- 5 metre tethered Type 2 cable for Mode 3 charging, ready to plug in.
- Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity with OCPP 1.6 JSON and Modbus TCP/IP.
- RFID reader as standard, plus free mode, mobile app and OCPP remote authorisation.
- Local and remote load management, with support for charging from solar energy systems.
- Remote control and charge scheduling through the Drive Green Next app.
- IP54 and IK10 rated enclosure for internal and external areas, from minus 25°C to 50°C.
- Stated by Vestel as complying with the Electric Vehicles (Smart Charge Points) Regulations 2021.
Product Overview
The AC Quatro is part of Vestel's home charging range and combines a small 256 x 256 x 127 mm footprint with a full set of smart features. The output current can be set at 10, 13, 16, 20, 25, 30 or 32A, so your installer can match the charger to the capacity of the property supply.
Smart load management allows the charger to adjust its output according to household consumption, helping to avoid overloading the main fuse. It can also communicate with solar energy systems so you can charge your car from your own solar generation. Dynamic load management uses the optional Vestel Power Optimizer or current transformers, available separately.
The charger connects to your home network by Wi-Fi or Ethernet. Through the Drive Green Next app you can start and stop sessions, schedule charging for cheaper off peak tariffs and control power remotely. For managed or shared sites, OCPP 1.6 JSON connects the unit to a back office platform, and the web configuration interface makes commissioning straightforward.
Protection is built in, including DC residual current sensing at 6mA, over current, over and under voltage, over temperature, short circuit, surge and lightning, earth fault and phase to neutral reverse detection.
Applications
- Home EV charging on driveways, carports and garages
- Homes with solar PV that want to charge from their own generation
- Properties with limited supply capacity that need load management
- Holiday lets, small businesses and workplaces needing RFID controlled access
What Is Included
- 1 x Vestel AC Quatro 7.4kW EV charger with 5m tethered Type 2 cable
Installation and Safety Notes
This charger must be installed by a qualified electrician experienced in EV charge point installation, in line with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) including Section 722, and Building Regulations. The supply needs a dedicated circuit with correctly sized cable and suitable protective devices for a 32A continuous load.
On PME (TN-C-S) supplies, BS 7671 requires protection against a broken PEN conductor for EV charging points. Your installer will confirm the earthing arrangement for your property, which may include an earth electrode. The charger supports TN and TT earthing systems.
The enclosure is rated IP54 and IK10 and is suitable for wall or pole mounting in internal and external areas, at operating temperatures from minus 25°C to 50°C and up to 3000 m altitude. Your installer will notify the local DNO of the new charge point where required.
Important: this is a single phase charger. Do not attempt to modify the charger or its tethered cable, and do not use extension leads or adaptors between the charger and the vehicle.
