Description
xVictron Blue Smart IP65 Charger 12V 25A (1 Output) 230V UK Plug
The Victron Blue Smart IP65 12/25 is a single-output, 25-amp battery charger designed for 12V lead-acid and lithium battery banks. Built to IP65, it is dust-tight and protected against water jets, making it suitable for use in workshops, vans, boats and outdoor enclosures. It connects via a standard UK BS 1363 plug and is controlled and monitored through the Victron Connect app over Bluetooth.
Key Features
- IP65-rated enclosure: fully dust-tight and protected against low-pressure water jets from any direction.
- 25A charge current on a single output, suitable for 12V battery banks up to approximately 250Ah.
- Bluetooth built-in: configure charge profiles, monitor charge status and view history via the free VictronConnect app on iOS or Android.
- Compatible with a wide range of 12V battery chemistries including AGM, gel, flooded lead-acid and lithium (LiFePO4) with selectable charge profiles.
- Adaptive multi-stage charging algorithm: bulk, absorption and float stages with optional storage mode to maintain batteries during long-term standby.
- UK BS 1363 mains plug fitted as standard, ready to use on any standard UK 230V socket.
- Temperature-compensated charging when used with an optional Victron temperature sensor, protecting battery life in variable ambient conditions.
Product Overview
The Blue Smart IP65 range sits above Victron's standard Blue Smart chargers specifically because of its weatherproof housing. The IP65 rating means the unit can be mounted in a vehicle engine bay, a damp outbuilding, a marine locker or any location where a standard charger would be at risk from moisture or dust ingress. The 25A output is substantial enough to recover a deeply discharged battery bank efficiently without requiring a dedicated shore power circuit.
Bluetooth connectivity is a practical advantage in professional and trade settings. Rather than relying on indicator LEDs, an installer or technician can open VictronConnect on a phone and see the exact charge voltage, current, state of charge stage and any fault history. Charge profiles can be adjusted to match the specific battery chemistry on site, and the settings are retained in the charger's memory. This removes the guesswork from commissioning and makes fault diagnosis straightforward.
The adaptive absorption algorithm adjusts absorption time based on the duration of the preceding bulk phase. A battery that was only lightly discharged will receive a shorter absorption period, reducing unnecessary gassing and heat in sealed batteries. The storage mode float voltage keeps batteries in good condition during extended periods of inactivity without overcharging.

Installation Notes
This charger connects to a standard UK 230V mains socket and does not require hardwiring, making it straightforward to install for competent users. Ensure the DC output cables are correctly rated for the 25A charge current and that connections to the battery terminals are secure and correctly polarised. For installations in vehicles or marine craft where the charger will be permanently wired rather than plug-connected, work should be carried out by a qualified auto-electrician or marine electrician. Always verify battery chemistry compatibility before selecting a charge profile, particularly when charging lithium cells.
