Description
xVictron Blue Smart IP65 Charger 24V 8A (1 Output) 230V CEE 7/16
The Victron Blue Smart IP65 24/8 is a single-output, 24V 8A battery charger with built-in Bluetooth and an IP65-rated enclosure. It is designed for professional and trade use where a reliable, weather-resistant charger is needed for 24V battery systems. The CEE 7/16 (Europlug) mains connection makes it suitable for standard European and UK 2-pin outlets.
Key Features
- IP65-rated enclosure provides protection against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets, making it suitable for use in damp or outdoor-adjacent environments.
- Built-in Bluetooth allows full configuration and monitoring via the Victron VictronConnect app on iOS and Android, with no additional interface hardware required.
- Charges 24V lead-acid batteries including flooded, gel, AGM and VRLA types, with selectable charge algorithms to suit each chemistry.
- Eight-stage adaptive charge algorithm (bulk, absorption, float, storage, equalisation and recondition) extends battery service life and maintains charge quality.
- Single DC output with direct DC connector for straightforward connection to the battery terminals.
- Mains input via CEE 7/16 Europlug (230V AC), compatible with standard European two-pin sockets.
- Compact and lightweight at 1.1 kg, suitable for fixed installation or portable use in vehicles, boats and off-grid equipment.
Product Overview
The Blue Smart IP65 range uses an adaptive charge algorithm that adjusts absorption time based on the battery's response during the bulk phase. This means a deeply discharged battery receives a longer absorption period, while a battery in good condition moves through to float more quickly. The result is a more accurate charge cycle that avoids chronic undercharging or overcharging, both of which degrade lead-acid batteries over time.
Bluetooth connectivity is built directly into the charger, not added via an external dongle. Through VictronConnect, an installer or end user can select the battery type and capacity, view real-time charge status, check historical data, and update firmware. This is particularly useful for installations where the charger is mounted in an enclosed or hard-to-reach location, as there is no need for physical access to read the charge state.
The IP65 rating distinguishes this charger from standard indoor-only units. It can be mounted in engine bays, battery compartments, outbuildings or other locations where moisture and dust are present. The CEE 7/16 plug is the standard two-pin Europlug used across continental Europe and is also compatible with many UK adaptors and extension leads.

Installation Notes
This charger is intended for connection to 24V lead-acid battery systems only. Ensure the battery voltage and chemistry are correctly configured in VictronConnect before first use. The unit should be mounted in a ventilated location away from direct heat sources, even though the IP65 enclosure provides environmental protection. Mains electrical connections must comply with local wiring regulations. For permanent fixed installations in vehicles or marine applications, connection by a qualified electrician or marine engineer is recommended.
