Product Overview
The BMV-700H tracks the state of charge of a battery bank by integrating the current flowing in and out of the battery through a precision shunt. Rather than simple ampere hour counting, it applies Peukert compensation and charge efficiency factors so that the readings reflect real world battery behaviour under load. In systems where deep discharge shortens battery life and replacement costs are significant, this level of accuracy is what protects the investment in the battery bank.
The "H" designation identifies this as the high voltage member of the BMV-700 family. Where the standard BMV-700 covers conventional 12V, 24V and 48V installations, the BMV-700H is intended for traction battery packs, high voltage industrial banks and other systems operating well above standard low voltage DC. Because of the higher working voltage, the supplied shunt is housed in a dedicated enclosure suitable for the application.
Installation is straightforward. All electrical connections are made to the quick connect PCB on the current shunt, and the shunt connects to the display head with a standard RJ12 cable. The supplied 10 metre RJ12 cable and 2 metre fused battery cable are all that is required, with no additional components needed. The unit ships with both round and square front bezels, a securing ring for rear mounting and screws for front mounting, so it can be fitted neatly into a panel or enclosure in either style.
The VE.Direct port allows the BMV-700H to pass live data to a Victron GX device, making the battery bank visible alongside the rest of the system through the VRM online portal. For remote or unattended sites, this turns local battery data into something that can be monitored and acted on from anywhere.

Installation and Safety Notes
The BMV-700H is intended for high voltage battery systems only, from 60 to 385 VDC. It is not suitable for standard 12V, 24V or 48V installations. For those systems, the BMV-700 or BMV-702 is the correct choice. Please confirm your battery bank voltage before ordering.
The shunt must be installed on the negative conductor of the battery bank, with all negative loads and charge sources connected to the load side of the shunt. Incorrect wiring will produce inaccurate readings. The battery monitor is not isolated from the shunt, so the unit is suitable for systems with a grounded negative only.
High voltage DC systems carry a serious risk of arc flash and electric shock and cannot be safely worked on without the correct training, tools and personal protective equipment. Installation and commissioning must be carried out by a qualified electrician or engineer experienced in high voltage DC battery systems, with correct fusing, isolation, cable sizing and earthing in accordance with local regulations. Where the monitor is connected to a managed lithium battery system, confirm compatibility with the battery management system before connection.

If you are unhappy in any way with your purchase, you can return it for a refund or a replacement, as long as you return it in the same condition as it arrived (original/undamaged packaging and product) and within 30 days of receiving it. We will pay for your return postage on a faulty item as long as you send it using Royal Mail 2nd class recorded delivery (for EU or International Shipments, you have to use our UPS account, we will provide you with a return label)
Please keep in mind the following:
- Items returned within 14 days but not in their original and undamaged packaging will also incur a -15% charge per package.
- If you return an item that doesn't adhere to our returns procedure or doesn't include a returns form, you may be liable for a £10 administration fee
- Individual items from a bundle can't be returned, refunded or exchanged. If you want a refund/credit/exchange for a bundle, all items must be returned to us.

IMPORTANT: We need to be able to identify an item with your order. We can only do this if you follow our returns process. Please do not send us items back that do not follow this process as they cannot be identified properly and will not be replaced or refunded.
What delivery method do I need to use when returning an item?
You must send the goods back to us via Royal Mail 2nd class recorded delivery. Refunds on faulty items returned are reimbursed within 5 working days.
Can I return just one item from multiple purchases?
Yes. Once you start the returns process you will go to a page that will allow you to choose which items you want to be replaced or refunded.
Returning faulty goods
If your item is faulty, you need to follow the returns policy, where you will be able to state that it’s faulty. The product will then arrive at our warehouse for testing.
If your purchase is not within 14 days
You can still exchange your item for a different product or for credit to use on the Voltacon Solar or Ledison-led-lights.co.uk websites (-15% from the credit amount).
Returns outside of the 14-day period do not qualify for the free returns policy.
Returning an item within the warranty
If you have a warranty and want to return a faulty item, you just need to follow our standard returns process. When we receive your item, we will then check that it’s within warranty and for any faults before arranging a replacement.
