Description
xVictron MultiPlus-II 24/3000/70-32 230V GX Inverter Charger
The Victron MultiPlus-II 24/3000/70-32 GX is a 3000VA inverter charger with a built-in GX device, designed for 24V battery systems operating at 230V AC. It combines inverter, battery charger and transfer switch functions in a single unit, with onboard monitoring and control via the integrated GX platform. Suited to off-grid installations, backup power systems and self-consumption solar setups where a separate GX monitoring device would otherwise be required.
Key Features
- 3000VA continuous inverter output at 230V AC from a 24V DC battery bank.
- 70A battery charger with adaptive multi-stage charging algorithm to suit a range of battery chemistries.
- 32A AC input current limit, adjustable via the GX interface or VEConfigure.
- Integrated GX device provides onboard system monitoring, VRM portal connectivity and DVCC support without requiring a separate Cerbo GX or Color Control.
- PowerAssist function supplements shore or generator power when AC demand exceeds the available input, preventing overload trips.
- True sine wave output suitable for sensitive loads including motor-driven equipment and medical devices.
- Transfer switch with a typical switchover time of 20ms, fast enough for most computers and sensitive electronics to ride through without interruption.
- Compatible with Victron VE.Bus for parallel and three-phase configurations when additional capacity is needed.
- Built-in Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity via the GX platform for remote monitoring through the Victron VRM portal.
Product Overview
The MultiPlus-II GX series integrates the proven MultiPlus-II inverter charger with a full GX controller in one enclosure. This removes the need for a separate Cerbo GX or CCGX unit, reducing wiring complexity and panel space in installations where monitoring is required. The GX platform supports DVCC (Distributed Voltage and Current Control), which allows the unit to coordinate charging between multiple sources and communicate directly with compatible BMS units on lithium battery systems.
The 70A charger is capable of handling a substantial battery bank and uses an adaptive algorithm that adjusts charge parameters based on battery behaviour over time. The 32A AC input limit is configurable, which is useful when the unit is connected to a generator with a limited output rating. PowerAssist allows the inverter to top up generator or grid power during peak demand, so a smaller AC source can be used without risking overload.
As a 24V unit, this model is well suited to installations where the battery bank is already specified at 24V, such as smaller off-grid cabins, marine systems, vehicle conversions and backup power applications. For larger systems requiring higher DC voltage, Victron offers 48V variants of the MultiPlus-II GX range.

Applications
- Off-grid cabins and rural properties with 24V battery banks requiring integrated monitoring.
- Marine and narrowboat installations where panel space is limited and a combined inverter charger and GX unit is preferred.
- Vehicle and motorhome conversions running 24V systems with 230V AC loads.
- Backup power systems for critical loads where fast transfer switching and remote monitoring are required.
- Solar self-consumption systems paired with a MPPT solar charger and lithium or AGM battery bank.
- Generator-assisted off-grid setups where PowerAssist allows use of a smaller generator.
What Is Included
- 1x Victron MultiPlus-II 24/3000/70-32 230V GX inverter charger unit.
Installation Notes
Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician or accredited installer. The MultiPlus-II GX connects to both a 24V DC battery bank and a 230V AC supply, and incorrect wiring presents a serious risk of electric shock or fire. For grid-connected or export-enabled installations in the UK, compliance with G98 or G99 requirements applies and the relevant DNO notification or approval must be obtained before commissioning. When used with lithium batteries, confirm BMS compatibility and configure DVCC settings appropriately. DC cable sizing, fusing and ventilation must follow Victron's installation guidelines and applicable wiring regulations.
