Description
xVOLTACON Power 800W Plug In Solar Kit with Ground Mount and 2x JA Solar 465W Panels
Generate your own electricity from a standard 13A socket. This complete plug in solar kit pairs two all black JA Solar 465W N-type panels with a Hoymiles HiFlow Pro HMS-800-2WB 800W dual MPPT microinverter, a ground mounting frame and all the cabling needed to connect. It is listed on the ENA Type Test Register under the VOLTACON Power brand, and it ships with free UK delivery.
No roof survey, no scaffolding and no fixed wiring: set it up in the garden or on a flat roof, plug it in and start reducing what you buy from the grid during the day.
Key Features
- ENA registered complete kit, certificate number VOLTD/21572/V1/A2, supplied under the VOLTACON Power brand.
- 930Wp of solar from two JA Solar 465W all black, N-type, double glass panels.
- Hoymiles HiFlow Pro HMS-800-2WB 800W dual MPPT microinverter, so each panel is tracked independently and shade on one panel does not pull down the other.
- Built in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth monitoring through the Hoymiles S-Miles app, with no separate gateway needed.
- IP67 rated, fanless microinverter with 96.7% peak efficiency.
- Ground mounting frame included, suitable for lawns, patios, decking and flat roofs.
- 5m AC cable with UK 3 pin plug, so the panels can stay in the sun while you reach a convenient socket.
- 2m solar panel extension leads for more freedom when positioning the panels and the microinverter.
- No battery and no rewiring: the electricity you generate is used by your home first.
Product Overview
This kit is built for homeowners who want genuine solar savings without a full rooftop solar PV system. The two JA Solar 465W panels give 930Wp of DC capacity. Pairing slightly more panel power than the 800W inverter rating helps the system reach its full output for more of the day, particularly in the mornings, late afternoons and on the brighter overcast days typical of the UK.
The Hoymiles HiFlow Pro HMS-800-2WB microinverter has two independent MPPT inputs, one per panel. If one panel is partly shaded by a fence, tree or chimney, the other keeps working at its own best operating point. The microinverter converts the DC from the panels into 230V AC and feeds it into your home through the supplied 5m cable and UK plug, where appliances running at the time, such as the fridge, router, washing machine or home office equipment, use your solar power first.
The ground mounting frame removes the biggest obstacle with most plug in kits: where to put the panels. Assemble it on firm, level ground or a flat roof, face the panels as close to south as possible and secure the frame against wind. The kit is designed as a complete, registered system, so it should be installed exactly as supplied.
Applications
- Gardens, lawns and patios with good southern exposure
- Flat roofs on extensions, garages and outbuildings
- Homes where a full rooftop solar PV system is not practical
- Rented homes, subject to your landlord's permission
- Reducing daytime grid consumption from fridges, routers, home office equipment and appliances
What Is Included
- 2x JA Solar 465W all black solar panels
- 1x Hoymiles HiFlow Pro HMS-800-2WB 800W dual MPPT microinverter
- 1x ground and flat roof mounting frame
- 1x 5m AC cable with UK 3 pin plug
- 2m solar panel extension leads
Installation and Safety Notes
Assemble the frame on firm, level ground or a flat roof, clear of shade, and secure it against wind with ballast or fixings suited to the surface. On a flat roof, check that the structure can take the load and that the frame cannot move in high winds; if the work involves height, use a competent installer.
Connect each panel to its own MPPT input on the microinverter, using the 2m extension leads where needed, then plug the 5m AC cable directly into a standard 13A wall socket. Outdoor sockets must be weatherproof. Only use the cables supplied with the kit, and never connect it through an extension lead, multi way adapter or timer plug, or modify the plug or cable.
Use the kit as supplied. Adding panels, swapping the microinverter or adding a battery takes it outside its ENA registration. Notify your Distribution Network Operator (DNO) under G98 within 28 days of connecting; notification is free and quotes the ENA certificate number above.
If your home wiring is old, or you are unsure about the condition of the socket and circuit, have them checked by a qualified electrician before connecting. Solar panels produce voltage whenever light falls on them, so unplug the kit and cover the panels before disconnecting or moving any DC cables.
